The New York Giants visit the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, September 21, 2026, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC. SoFi Stadium hosts a Giants team seeking a 2-0 start against a Rams team trying to avoid 0-2. Bettors looking to compare NFL odds for Monday Night Football will find prime value on the underdog line.
My Giants vs. Rams prediction favors New York against the spread. The Rams retain the stronger winning case, but laying a touchdown requires confidence in an offense facing fresh receiver uncertainty. A competitive loss would be enough for the underdog ticket.
Giants vs. Rams Odds
| Market | New York Giants | Los Angeles Rams |
|---|---|---|
| Spread | +7 (-115) | -7 (-105) |
| Moneyline | +260 | -320 |
| Total | Over 47.5 (-110) | Under 47.5 (-110) |
These September 21 reference prices can change before kickoff. Giants +7 pushes on a seven-point defeat and wins with a smaller loss or an outright victory. At -115, the break-even rate is 53.5% on bets that do not push.
The Rams must win by eight or more to cover -7. New York’s +260 moneyline implies 27.8% before removing bookmaker margin; that number is a price calculation, not my estimated upset probability.
Dart Gives The Giants A Covering Route
The Giants game recap credits Jaxson Dart with 230 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the 28-20 victory over Dallas. He completed 23 of 29 attempts, offering evidence that John Harbaugh’s offense can sustain a patient approach.
Cam Skattebo added 81 rushing yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Likely caught eight passes for 78 yards and two scores, giving Dart a productive target between the outside receivers.
Los Angeles surrendered 174 rushing yards to San Francisco. Skattebo does not need to match that entire team total; successful early carries would let New York avoid obvious passing situations and protect its defense through possession. That route becomes harder if repeated penalties create long-yardage downs or an early deficit forces Harbaugh to abandon the ground game prematurely.
The mobility discussed in our Giants matchup breakdown remains relevant. Dart’s ability to leave the pocket can rescue possessions, but this selection needs ordinary first downs too.
New York converted nine of its first ten third downs against Dallas before the final kneeldown. Expecting that rate again would be too aggressive. The better argument is that shorter third downs and manageable passing situations can keep the score close without another exceptional conversion rate.
Injuries Complicate Both Passing Games
The Rams injury report lists Puka Nacua as questionable with a hip injury. Sean McVay described groin soreness after Thursday’s practice. ESPN reported Monday that Nacua was trending toward sitting out; his status remained unconfirmed.
Jordan Whittington is doubtful, and safety Kamren Kinchens is out. Nacua’s availability matters more than attaching a fixed points adjustment to his name: limited routes or reduced separation could change where Matthew Stafford directs the ball.
New York has its own coverage concerns. Paulson Adebo is on injured reserve, and Deonte Banks is questionable with a calf injury. A thinner cornerback rotation gives Davante Adams a plausible route to a larger contribution.
That combination makes the final inactive list meaningful. An unrestricted Nacua against a depleted Giants secondary would weaken both my spread preference and the under lean; his absence would not automatically make either wager profitable.
Stafford And Donald Supply The Rams Counterargument
Stafford threw for 155 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the 27-7 opening loss to San Francisco. Los Angeles produced 290 total yards, so treating seven points as its normal scoring level would be an overreaction.
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum combined for 95 rushing yards on 21 carries. Productive early runs could force New York to defend shorter throws and handoffs together, reducing the need for Stafford to attempt difficult downfield passes.
The defensive picture is changing too. Myles Garrett is on injured reserve following knee surgery, removing an established threat from the edge. That absence improves the case for New York sustaining drives rather than repeatedly abandoning its run game.
Aaron Donald plans to make his season debut after two seasons away. His return offers an interior disruption threat, but his workload and immediate effectiveness remain uncertain. Treating him as either irrelevant or guaranteed to dominate would oversimplify the matchup.
Giants vs. Rams Best Bets And Prediction
NFL Best Bet: Giants +7 (-115). Prefer +7.5 at comparable pricing. Pass at +6.5: losing protection against a seven-point defeat changes the selection, even with a cheaper price.
Total Lean: Under 47.5 (-110). My projection assumes sustained possessions and fewer explosive Rams completions. Pass below 46.5, and reassess if Nacua is cleared without restrictions.
Score prediction: Rams 24, Giants 20. Los Angeles can recover from its opener without creating separation. Keep the stake modest, check final availability and avoid increasing exposure through a combined spread-and-total wager.
